These specials sound great!

If you're worried about child care for the evening, drop the kids off at the Fun Zone downtown at 104 W. Parrish. They'll be open from 6-9pm! http://www.facebook.com/FunZoneDurham

if it doesn't measure up to Pops and Rick's, that's really not good. In my opinion, for at least the past year, Pops has been inconsistent and, even at its best, just OK. Loved it when it first opened, but now often get soggy crust and and topping overload so that you can't even pick up a slice without it falling apart. Don't think Ricks was ever the same after they moved to the new location - i think the food is often just plain ol' bad - last time i was there, had really salty meatloaf, green beans that had a hair in them, and mashed potatoes that had the consistency of boxed. And service was slow as molasses. the time before that, we went for brunch on a saturdayand got up and walked out because we couldn't get anyone to take our order. Maybe Rick and Debbie are not as involved in the day-to-day as they used to be, but for me, the cheap prices don't make up for the poor food and bad service.

We dropped in tonight to try out G2B with family and friends. Walked in and were told there would be an hour and a half wait to be seated. Looked around and there were at least 6 tables open and no one at the bar (and no one waiting.) They didn't even suggest sitting at the bar or open areas to have a drink and wait. Parking lot was mostly empty. Considering their location, you'd think they would be happy for walk-in traffic...

We don't think we will go back. The disinterested hostess really turned us off. Went to City Beverage and they were very accommodating.

Haven't been there, but since we are kidless for the night, tonight...it's on! Some folks on here are a little harsh. Being from NE PA and raised near the Yuengling Brewery, a cold, wet 12oz glass of beer with a shot sounds like a slice of home. Plus in PA, kids aren't aloud in a bar regardless of age, 21 or nothing, save the VFW's, Legion and B.P.O.E.'s. Can't wait! Folks should ease up and have a cold one.

Right now the best way to make a reservation is to call the restaurant at 919.317.3200. Remember this is a class, and the students are only in class Thursdays and Fridays. So all voicemails will be returned on those days. While we do have an account with Open Table, we are having technical difficulties getting the school's system to sync with Open Table. We hope to have that resolved as soon as possible.
This quarter we are open Thursdays and Fridays for breakfast 7:30-10:00 am and lunch 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. We will be closed the day of Friday, February 24th. We hope to see you soon! Thanks for the review!

I too noted the lack of sides. I stopped in on Sunday for lunch as I was in the area, and paid $8 for a sandwich that didn't have a side. It was delicious, yes, but a bag of chips or at least a potato salad to round out the basket would have been nice.

My girlfriend got a soup-and-sandwich combo ($9 for half a sandwich and a cup of soup) and the lentil soup was under-seasoned. It was better after the addition of salt, but it still just wasn't all the way there. She liked her sandwich a lot-- I think it was Turkey and Brie.

Overall, it's a great addition to the area. But I don't see myself driving out to the area when I have Parker & Otis right down the street.
