I stopped by there last week & talked to TJ & he wants to open within the next couple of weeks. The health dept was there on Thurs so it shouldn’t be too much longer. it looks like the inside is ready to go, but he’s just wading through the paperwork. I saw a beverage company there earlier this week, so he must be stocking up. I live a couple of blocks away so I’ll keep an eye out & report back.

I remember reading a story on the history of this place. Is it going to remain true to that?

Pam replies on July 15th, 2010 at 8:21 pm:

Yes. TJ has hired a woman who worked there 15 years ago to cook in the kitchen & he finally was able to acquire the same chili recipe. I think he’s gotten some pressure from some folks to open up something more…..quirky, but he wants to stay true to the old Kings. I didn’t ask him, but I’d heard that he was going to try to incorporate a couple of vegetarian items, but I’m not sure about that.

The place looks the same as before but now it’s fresh & crisp. I can’t wait for a chili dog..it’s been a long time.

Carnival sounds interesting, but their website is a joke. They should have waited to put something up until it was more professional.. it is just good business practice and advertising.
