Crazy restaurant.com deals

Posted by RPP 12 Feb 2010 9 Comments

We normally don’t post about stuff like this, but restaurant.com is temporarily offering 80% off of  its $25 gift certificates, which are normally $10-12.50.

$2-3 for a $25 gift certificate is a very fine deal, and there are some decent Triangle restaurants that participate.

Use discount code HEART and click below.

UPDATE: 80% is back.  Use code ‘SAVOR’ after clicking below.

While there were a few restrictions, I took immediate advantage of 4 of these for Piedmont (a total of 8 bucks!). Awesome deal. Thanks so much!

Watch out!! I think they automatically sign you up for a member ship and charge your credit card for something like $15 a month. If it sounds too good to be true …

I do not think this is correct. They do have a separate dining club option though, which might be what you are talking about.

I have read about problems with restaurant.com in the past, mostly regarding gift certificates that are not being honored by the restaurants for whatever reason. Never used the site personally… but best practices would be to call the place in advance and make sure they honor the coupons/certificates before you start buying them.

The gift certificates all have the restrictions spelt out in black and white on the actual print out, as well as on the website before you purchase the GC. If you think a resturant might not honor these, it wouldn’t hurt to call them and ask if they are, indeed, still involved with the program. Simple as that.
