I would not have guessed that they would offer meatloaf! Sounds like an intriguing take on it. I will definitely order off the dinner entrees next time!

I should clarify: when I said "ravioli" I meant maultaschen (it looks like ravioli on the plate), sorry!

Oh yeah, you must go for an entree-filled dinner. The ravioli was amazing. So was the salmon.

I have actually never eaten at Guglhupf for brunch, but will be sure to try it soon! We ate there for dinner a couple of weeks ago because the menu looked so enticing with tons of different options. Although all of the appetizers and small plates looked delicious, we tried an entree from the menu and the special entree for that night. We tried "Oma's Meatloaf" which was a moist meatloaf with a hardboiled egg in the middle with bacon around the outside. We really enjoyed the mashed potato, gravy and green beans accompaning the dish. The real star of the dinner was the special which was a trout with perfectly cooked risotto with swiss chard, and butternut squash I believe. The special dish was incredible, one of the best dishes i have had in a long time. The flavor was buttery and delicious, and the dish was perfectly sized with two filets. The dessert we tried was deliciously decadent and chocolately and I loved the Lorelei cocktail. We will be going back to try the other dishes!

Looks like you are right! Per BCR's blog on the dinner offering, Dave Allworth, a former 411 West chef is running dinner and my friend was right that Wine Authorities is running the wine list.

I finally visited Guglhupf recently for an early afternoon lunch. My husband and i opted for a bit of a more ploughman style meal and split an assorted Cartucherie plate and a big mediterranean salad. we were extremely happy with the size and quality of our dishes, everything was fresh and delicious. we were especially enamored of the spicy mustard (which i suspect is housemade, or at least house-spiked with a nice dallop of horseradish. we were also in love with the lil selection of pickles on the plate, which seemed to include pickled apple chunks..Delicious!

we'll definitely be back for more...we seemed to have hit it at the right time, avoiding the rush to get seated between breakfast and lunch
